TAKE THAT, LIFE!
I took the AP Euro Exam today. Crazy stuff, but that's not what's important! The biggest roadblock in me being online, hanging out with all you guys, and stuff is finally out of the way! Discarded until my three AP classes next year! Do I hear a WHOOOO!?!?

Okay, so I still don't have as much time as I'd hope. There's about one more month of school left, projects in three classes, and we can't forget finals, but considering I already took my AP Euro final, that leaves out the biggest of them all. I'll be able to get on a lot more, and at last I can rest.

Somewhere up there, God hates me
So let's see...today I had tests in Health, Geometry, English 2 Honors, and AP Euro. Tonight, I have the first performance of a play I'm in, and it'll continue tomorrow (2:30 and 7:30) and Sunday (2:30), and also tomorrow I have to go to school at 8:15 in the morning to take an AP Euro final which involves writing three essays in a two hour and a half sitting. Oh, and next week is the actual AP test.

I know I've said it before in countless forms, but now, more than ever, MY LIFE IS A JUMBLED UP, ANNOYING, SLEEP DEPRIVING FORCE OF EVIL. BLAAHHHH...

At least after that, the rest of the year is smooth sailing. Hope that means more time with the online community.

Best excuse for falling asleep in class
I was sleepy today because I only got four hours of sleep last night. No, I didn't stay up late doing homework. No, I wasn't cruising the internet until I lost track of time. I went to bed at my usual time - between 11 and 12, ready to get 6-7 hours of sleep. Everything was fine...

AND THEN ARMAGEDDON CAME!!!!111

Actually, a 5.2 earthquake woke me up at 4 in the morning. Bed was shaking, window was quivering, there was a slight rumbling, and I was so sleepy I thought I was dreaming and went back to sleep for half an hour before I woke up for good. I forgot about it until my Chemistry teacher brought up the earthquake. That helped explain why I tripped while walking to the bathroom, disorientated from the shaking...and I wanted to sleep in the middle of my Spanish class.

And still my entire family, dog and parakeet included, slept through it. And I'M supposed to be the heavy sleeper.

Ah well, just random story. Earthquake struck Illinois, so California, you ain't the only one.

What's Been Up
Alright, so here's the promised entry that has nothing to do with me being short on time...well, kind of. I've been kind of stupid in my last few posts, talking vaguely about why my life has been such a pain but never really talking about what I've been doing - not in detail, anyway. Some know certain details, some I haven't talked to in so long that they know nothing of my life in the past several months, but whoever you are, I think you deserve to know what's been going on:

Sophomore year at high school has been rough, to start things off. It's not a bad year, by any means. I've maintained A's-B's, a mid-high C every now and then in a poorer subject but nothing devastating. Instead of being a complete social recluse, I've gone out of my way to talk with people and make new friends. Teela and I are still together, braving whatever problems arise every now and then. I can say with complete certainty that I've been, for the most part, happy.

But then there's homework, which isn't that back-breaking in sophomore year but when combined with my tendency to procrastinate proves as big an obstacle as any. In saying "Ah...I'll get to it after I check Kotaku" or "I'll get to it after I play Brawl," I'm guaranteeing homework is started at 7-8 and finished 10-11. Sometimes I have to get up early to finish it; sometimes certain assignments don't get finished at all. I'm not a slacker by any means, but left to my own devices my mind wanders. Grades dip occasionally as a result, but it also means that I'm taking away time I could use to practice saxophone, write, or, as my past entries have discussed, get on YIM/LJ to RP/chat/write entries.

On the subject of writing, my muse and I have had an on-off relationship for the past year or so. As a result of procrastination, I've yet to develop a consistent writing habit, and for somebody who wants to make a living of of stories, that's not good. I'm doing what I can, submitting stories to LL and some forums I visit every once in a while. Currently up on LL are two stories, "Soul Chasm" and "W: The Beginning" which are currently in progress and updated when I get the time. I don't mean to shamelessly advertise, but if you can, please take some time to read them. I'm still struggling to get that habit formed, and I'm hoping that feedback from various people will give me motivation to continue. If you have the time, please read at least some of those two stories. If not, that's okay.

Anyway, I've had time for some hobbies. I've been acting frequently at the local theatre. Two plays finished so far and in the middle of a third one. It's a time eater like homework, but at least it's a fun time eater. I've been pursuing some other interests, but as of now I can't really discuss them lest I jinx myself and my plans come crumbling apart.

So to wrap this up, it's been a good year, but I'm coming to grips with the idea of time management. I'm 16 now as of March 21, and this summer I might work towards my permit / license. I'm trying to reestablish friendships with people I haven't seen in ages. Homie wrote an entry earlier summing up my feelings on that really well: it feels weird coming back and seeing people I haven't talked with in ages. I don't want that feeling to last forever, though, so I hope that I can get my friends back - or at least, those who haven't drifted off into some other part of the internet far from where I can find them.

There you have it, then. What's been going on and what I'm currently up to. Hope that clears things up.

Official "I'm busy, what's new, I'll see what I can do" Post #405
It seems that most of my posts on LJ now consist solely of statements from me about how I'm sorry I can't get on LJ or YIM and that I'll try to sort out my time to accommodate the internet, and this one is no different. It is, however, what will officially be my last one, at least until one of my teachers decides it's funny to assign forty three pages of review or something, but until then I've managed to find a decent means of managing my time. Beginning this quarter, I've done my homework first thing first and gotten it out of the way before procrastination takes hold. Granted, I still haven't mastered doing all my hobbies (writing, acting, saxophone, RPing, etc.) in one day without having to exclude all but one, but it's a start. Expect to see me managing time better than ever in the next few weeks.

So what that means is I'll be coming on LJ semi-regularly to post stuff, let people know what's going on in life, and put up the usual LJ quizzes that are such bundles of joy. I'll try to do the same with YIM, but that may take a while. Give or take a month, and I should be back into the swing of things, hanging out in the community without looking like that guy who everybody knew five years ago before he disappeared off the face of the Earth.

All my future posts will concern more varied topics, I assure you. I might have something up later tonight, we'll see, but until then, you have my solemn vow that this will be the last entry concerning business. Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye, but do it quick so it doesn't hurt.

School = Arch Rival
I recall saying two weeks ago that I would be on YIM much more often than before, when I was finishing up my little stint at the local theatre. However, that was before AP Euro reared its ugly head and crushed me with its workload. Needless to say---much like I have said before---time is not on my side.

To all of my friends on YIM, I must apologize for my continued absence, but my life has been hectic and eventful as of late, and I hope to remedy that. With some luck, I'll be able to get on in the next few days.

Time is not on my side
For all my friends on YIM, I haven't died on you. I have, however, been caught up in one hell of a life that involves schoolwork, saxophone lessons, sickness, guitar, and acting in a play.

I know that it might get frustrating for all of you to have to deal with my constant disappearance, and I don't blame you, but I ask that you bear with me. With all the stuff going on, I'm trying to figure out how I can arrange it in my daily schedule to allow some room for recreational stuff like RPing. This might take a few days, but I hope you have the patience for it. There's a lot of stuff that needs to be sorted out on my end.

So my apologies to Delrin, Silver, Thumbs, Kyoni, Wilco, Frost, Husky, Regal, and everybody else involved in an RP with me. I don't intend to abandon you guys.

No bonus song, sorry. Take a stab at the song list, and maybe you'll be right.

Saturday...BUSY!?
This Saturday, I'll be heading with the Jazz Ensemble I'm in at school to some festival to play music and various other jazz-related activities. I'll be leaving at 9 in the morning and won't be back home until 11...PM.

Yikes.

So I won't be around on that day. However, to make up for it, our director has mentioned the performance will be streamed on public television (in the area of the festival, of course, and not across the nation) and on the website for the festival. So, once I find out the link to the site, I'll allow you all to see myself playing the saxophone like no other. It'll probably be very easy to pick me out. I'm probably going to wear shades. :P

Update on m'life
Well, nothing really big has been happening lately, aside from a few minor things that I'll bring up for the sake of having something to write about.

Today I got Phoenix Wright 2 for the DS, and have beaten the first case. Since this is my first time playing any game from the series, I have to say I am very impressed. It's not the most revolutionary games, obviously, but it's easy to get into, simple, humorous, and fun. If I could find the first game in any store, I would go get it. Alas, such is not so easy.

I got to hard mode in Guitar Hero. I'm getting the hang of it, but I am still unable of getting those big solos and certain note shifts right, but go figure. I'm no guitar god, and probably never will be.

Second semester of freshman year has started, and I'm determined to ace it. I've got my backpack sorted out, folders arranged, and homework taken care of. I'm hoping this all goes well.

So...there's your little update. Not much else to say.

Z is back in black, and that's a fact
Well...it's been a long, long time since I've been here on LJ. To be honest, I didn't expect to be back. I'd probably have forgotten this place had Teela not decided to create an account for me and go the extra step to customize it in such a way. And for that I say thank you to her.

So here you go, Teela. Here's my first entry in my new account and proof that I shall not abandon this like I did the last.

My first plan of action is to start adding all of my buddies to my friends list. After that, I'll try my best to update this regularly and not leave you all hanging like I did the last time.

To sum it all up in one sentence: I'm back!
